Phone Charger Cables, Adapters, and Docks
Most mobile devices come with a standard charger upon purchase, but it doesn’t hurt to have more than one phone charger cable in the places you spend the most time. With a cable at the office, a dock by your nightstand, and an adaptor for your car, you’ll never run out of battery when you need it most.
Type C Cables
Available since 2015, the USB c phone charger is also known as the USB 3.1 and it’s quickly becoming the standard for charging and transferring data. The main benefit of the type c phone charger is that it boasts 10 Gpbs charging speed, which is double that of the USB 3.0. While faster, USB c cables are smaller than their predecessors, so you’ll need an adaptor to fit it into older ports.
Other Cables and Charging Solutions
While more and more devices are being designed with type c charging, there are still plenty of phone manufacturers using other charging technologies. And if your device is older than the last few years, chances are you’ll need one of those other options for keeping your battery in the green.
Lightning cables, cable specific to your device and generation, various lengths, and varying degrees of durability are just some of the things you should consider when looking for a cable. You might also consider purchasing wireless or portable charger cables to charge on the go or adaptors to power up more than one device at a time.
Listen and Charge
There are a few options for charging your phone while still enjoying all of your favorite tracks. If your device uses a type c phone charger, look for splitters that allow you to plug in your cable and your headphones at the same time. For listening to your music out loud and at the highest volume, many charging docks play double duty as music stands – and some are compatible with iPods and Apple watches, too.
